About www.greatbordeauxwines.com

This website is an upgrade of the old one, created in 2003. In 2015, I decided to hire a professional web designer (www.pellep.dk), to give my website major overhaul with new layout, simple structure,  user-friendly interface, easy navigation and search function + RSS. This "new" website kickstarted on May the 4th, 2015.

There are drop-down menus related to navigation bar contents. This website is responsive, which means it adjusts itself, whenever you see it on tablets (f.i. Ipad) and on cell phones. It supports Android, Apple IOS and Windows Phone.

The choice of chateaux in Chateau Profiles is 100% personal.

Various Tasting Notes chapter contains all other tasting notes, which don't relate to Chateau Profiles.

In Chateau Profiles there is a page with a description of the most important districts/communes in Bordeaux with facts, style of wines, pairing with food and places to eat. It can be accessed by clicking on every one district/commune listed in the drop-down menu of Chateau Profiles. If I don't have more than 5 bottled vintages of a given chateau to write TNs about than this chateau isn't included in Chateau Profiles.

I've created Latest news (right column) to pass the latest news immediately to the reader.

In Contact, you can write to me by email with praise or criticism, and come up with suggestion(s). I'll try to answer all inquires.

I sincerely hope my website will catch your attention, dear reader/visitor!

Latest news

2020 vintage in Bordeaux is said to follow the trend of excellent vintages as f.i. 2016 and 2018/9. Because of coronavirus, I did not travel to Bordeaux for primeurs tastings. Instead, I'm getting barrel samples sent to my home in Copenhagen. I expect to taste between 400-500 barrel samples. NB - report with TNs and ratings will first be available in "2020 FROM BARREL" ("VINTAGES") chapter at the beginning of June/mid-June.

full report on the 2018 vintage is now available on my website (April 2021). Close to 500 tasted wines. Check out chapter "2018 IN BOTTLE" in "VINTAGES".

TNs/ratings on 2019 Bordeaux barrel samples - see "2019" in the "Vintages" chapter. I received 325 samples from classified/non-classified properties, which I tasted during the summer of 2020.

A new feature is the Burgundy blog in the News chapter, which includes impressions from tastings/tasting dinners attended since November 2018.

In addition to my website, I also post tasting notes to a well-driven and hugely- scaled website, www.tastingbook.com, where I've 7.750+ followers and 2.350+ TNs by primo April 2021.
