2023 Canon (barrel sample) 97p 

Tasted in April 2024. 71% Merlot + 29% Cabernet Franc. 14% alcohol. It is a very fragrant and delicate wine with tones of morello cherries, roses, and violets. There is great complexity and structure, silky tannin, a splendid midpalate, and a long aftertaste. Superb wine. 

2022 Canon (barrel sample) 98+p 

Tasted in April 2023. 75% Merlot + 25% C. Franc. 14.5%  alcohol. It is very flavorful with old roses, violets, iris (limestone soil), licorice, and tea, with great complexity and structure, intense, concentrated, splendid midpalate, many layers, grained tannin, and a long aftertaste. Exceptional wine!

Tasted in April 2022. 74% Merlot + 26% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. Intense aroma of black cherries and blueberries on the nose; creamy on the palate with silky berries and grained tannin; great complexity and elegance; sophisticated; excellent length; long, long aftertaste. Spectacular effort.

2020 Canon (barrel sample) 98+p

Tasted in May 2021. 68% Merlot + 32% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. Intense aroma of black cherries and blueberries on the nose, creamy on the palate with silky berries and grained tannin, great complexity and elegance, sophistication, excellent depth, long, long aftertaste. Spectacular effort.

2018 Canon 98p

Tasted twice - last time in February 2021. Consistent notes. 72% Merlot + 28% Cabernet Franc. Intense aroma of black cherries and blueberries on the nose; creamy on the palate with silky berries and grained tannin; very complex and sophisticated; great complexity and length; and a long, long aftertaste. Sublime wine.

2017 Canon 95p

Tasted twice - last time in October 2023. This property produced an impressive wine with elegance and finesse, beautifully scented fruit, and silky tannin.

2016 Canon (barrel sample) 97+p 

Tasted in April 2015. 74% Merlot + 26% C. Franc. This wine showed fabulous aromas and complexity on the nose, silky fruit, and tannin. It was distinguished, pure, and refined, with great finesse and precision. Long, long aftertaste.

2015 Canon (barrel sample) 97p

It benefited greatly from staying in oak because it's improved since I tasted it in September 2016. It had a great aroma of black fruit and excellent complexity, structure, and focus. It also had a sophisticated touch and great length. Fabulous stuff. 

2000 Canon 94p

Tasted in June 2007. Dark red. Very aromatic and intense nose of raspberries and blueberries. It is an elegant wine with a lot of finesse and a delicate balance. It is very seductive, attractive, and tasty. I believe it'll stay that way until 2030.

1982 Canon 95p

Tasted in November 2014. Fine wine, keeping its ground very well, youthful and viril. Impressive. 

1945 Canon 95p

Tasted in December 2013. Stunningly fine wine, very much alive and in perfect balance. Very truffy, sophisticated, with a lot of sweetness, complex, and incredibly delightful. It was simply a tremendous effort.
