Both hotel and restaurant Lalique opened in May 2018 at Lafaurie Peyraguey. I visited this new complex in April 2019, and I have to say that it is worth spending a day or two. The restaurant with Alcasian cook, Jerome Schilling, offers immaculately prepared food with great class and finesse. With great wines made at the property, it's just a fabulous experience!!

Very concentrated and powerful on the palate yet with flair and grace. Striking acidity and sweetness. Sophisticated and with a mega-long heather honey finish. Amazing stuff.

Full of botrytised flavours like orange and mandarines, concentrated with excellent acidity, balance and honeyed finish. Very representative of the vintage. Tasted in March 2015.

Very intense and aromatic, botrytised flavours in numbers, honey melon, great complexity and a pleasing sweet finish. Great acidity to support sweetness. Excellent effort for the vintage. Tasted twice - last time in April 2019 - consistent notes.
2012 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY (barrel sample) 90p
Significantly lighter than recent vintages with less intensity of botrytised flavour, sweetness and acidity. It displayed elegance, finesse and supple body. Tasted in April 2013.

2008 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY (barrel sample) 90-93p
This wine showed spicy flavours, oak, power, a strong backbone, and a long aftertaste. One to watch in the future. I tasted in March 2009.
2007 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY (barrel sample) 90-91p
Pretty good wine but seemed a bit light. I'm convinced, however, that it will take on more weight when in the bottle. Tasted in April 2008.
2006 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY (barrel sample) 92p
Beautiful and powerful botrytised flavours of aromatic pineapple, pear and apricots on the nose and palate. Very stylish and delicious wine. Tasted in March 2007.
2005 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 93+p
This is one of the most reliable properties in the district, which beautifully mixes power and elegance. It seemed to follow in the 2001 vintage's tracks with excellently botrytised fruit flavours of apricots, peaches, oranges/orange peel, lusciousness, refinement, super elegance and exquisite balance. Gorgeous wine for keeping in the next 15-20 years. Tasted three times - last time in March 2014. Consistent notes.
2003 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 90p
I expected a more energetic wine with more concentration than one tasted during the day. Even if it has excellent noble rot, lusciousness, super elegance and delicate balance, this wine seems a bit flat, lacks some freshness, and shows slightly under the level of this property's capacity. Maybe this wine needs some more time in the bottle. Have to retaste it soon. One to lay down for 10-15 years horizontally. Tasted in March 2006
2001 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 95-96p
Thrillingly aromatic botrytised flavours, elegance and finesse. Incredibly rich, dense and long on the palate. A beautiful example of this vintage's potential. Tasted twice - last time in March 2008. Consistent notes.
1999 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 91p
Incredibly stylish and classy wine. Possesses well-integrated botrytis and deliciously sweet fruit. Splendid structure and length on the palate. It's a wine of high quality. Tasted in September 2004.
1997 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 94p
Very intense flavours of acacia, peach and orange peel on the nose. It tastes like candy, dense, classic with many, many nuances. Brilliant wine and excellent balance and finish. A delicacy of big calibre. Tasted twice - last time in March 2008. Consistent notes.
1990 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 94p
More alcohol felt here than in 2001, 1997, 1907 and 1906. More potent than usual with botrytised flavours of sweet/candied pineapple, apricot and brown sugar. Very well balanced, deep and very honeyed aftertaste. Splendid effort. Tasted in March 2008.
1988 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 93p
Amber yellow. Orange peel, dried apricots and peaches, molasse, a perfect match between acidity and sweetness, and heather honey on the finish. Impressive wine. Tasted twice - last time in July 2021. Consistent notes.
1907 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 98p
Simply magnificent wine giving aromas of mango and acacia honey and great acidity. Well-preserved with beautiful balance, enchanting flavours, attraction and finesse. Still quite fresh. Stunning 100+ years old wine. Tasted in March 2008.
1906 LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY 97p
One of the greatest vintages ever in Sauternes & Barsac. This wine is almost as stunning as 1907 but seems more advanced in age with flavours of creme brulée, and it's beauty anyway. Tasted in March 2008.
Fantastic double blast from the past - tasted in March 2008
